ALBUM REVIEW . Dec 2011
08/01/12Fusing folk, country, jazz and world rhythms, Sam Joole’s latest album, The Crescent and The Moon (2011), is gentle, honest and at times epic, no short stories only journeys; start to end. Since teaming up with Chilean born Magdalena Mira, they’ve been creating beautiful harmonies, creating layers in their intricate songs. The featured track “Lay Down” has no ego, just honesty, and an earthiness that can only be gained through experience and years of songwriting. The guitar is melodic, adding dimension, while Sam sings with sincerity, a slight huskiness to his voice. A beautiful piece of work. Lily So – The Orange Press
